The storm will bring significant snowfall to a number of major metropolitan areas, including Chicago; Detroit; Washington, D.C.; New York City; Philadelphia; Pittsburgh; Baltimore and Boston. Strong winds are forecast to create blizzard conditions in portions of the Midwest, including Chicago, on Feb. 9.

Portions of northeast Illinois; southeast Wisconsin; northern Indiana and Ohio; southern Michigan; eastern West Virginia; northern Virginia; Maryland; Washington, D.C.; southern and eastern Pennsylvania; Connecticut and Rhode Island are forecast to receive up to 30 cm (12 inches) of snow. Most other areas will see approximately 8-15 cm (3-6 inches) of snow. Snow predictions may change as the storm continues along its path.
